Internal complaints Committee (ICC)
Ms. Sumayya P

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is a crucial body established under the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulation, 2015. The primary purpose of the ICC is to address and resolve complaints of sexual harassment within higher educational institutions (HEIs). Key responsibilities of the ICC include: • Receiving Complaints: The ICC is responsible for receiving sexual harassment complaints from women employees and students. • Conducting Inquiries: The committee conducts inquiries into the complaints, following a fair and transparent process. • Recommending Actions: Based on the findings of the inquiry, the ICC recommends appropriate actions against the perpetrator. • Preventive Measures: The ICC also implements preventive measures, such as organizing awareness programs and workshops on gender sensitization and sexual harassment. The ICC is mandated to ensure a safe and secure environment for women in HEIs, promoting gender equality and respect.
